Rook endgames are the most frequent endgames which makes them one of the most important study objects in chess. Aside from typical technical solutions there are thematic tactics. We collected more than 100 problems, compiled five chapters with typical themes, one chapter with several different motifs, followed by two test chapters and a bonus test with extra hard problems. Learning endgame theory (Philidor, Lucena, Vancura) is only part of understanding a topic, sharpening the tactical vision is almost as important. A few words on our approach to finding good and interesting positions. We've developed technology and sophisticated algorithms to automatically find correct and interesting puzzles for various topics. We handpick the best ones and refine the solutions. That means these puzzles are carefully selected by their relevance and cover all frequently occurring tactics. All puzzles have a clear and carefully checked solution. Enjoy! } 1. -- * [Event "?"] [Site "?"] [Date "????.??.??"] [Round "?"] [White "Passed Pawn"] [Black "Introduction"] [Result "*"] { This chapter deals with examples in which at least one side has a far advanced passed pawn.
